Mission Statement and Purpose
The Kevin C. Barnhill Memorial Scholarship and Community Outreach Fund was established by the family and close friends of Kevin C. Barnhill, a 1997 graduate of Little Miami High School, Maineville resident, and Cincinnati Reds front-office employee, who was the victim of a homicide in Mason, Ohio on August 26, 2006. The Memorial Fund, which is administered by the Warren County Foundation, serves to honor Kevin's memory by giving back to the local community that he loved so much.
The Memorial Fund has two purposes. The first is to endow and award annual college scholarships to Little Miami High School senior student athletes that best personify the athletic, academic, and leadership qualities that Kevin exhibited throughout his high school career. The second is to create and/or financially participate in projects designed to improve the quality of life for youths living in the greater Warren County area. The soon-to-be constructed Kevin C. Barnhill Championship Baseball Field at Testerman Park was born out of the quality of life initiatives embodied in the mission statement of the Memorial Fund.
